City Furniture, one of Florida’s most successful furniture retailers, selected three energy-saving LED products from Cooper Lighting, to help achieve its initiative for LEED Silver certification for a new 94,000 sq. ft. superstore in Boca Raton, Florida. With an overall goal of reducing wattage consumption of the general lighting by half when compared to similar facilities, City Furniture is realizing an energy reduction of nearly 60 percent, and is estimating $55,000 savings in energy costs this year. “City Furniture was able to realize such savings at this facility because of a driving factor of specifying 98 percent of the lighting with LED technology,” said Mike Jaroszyk, Director of Facilities and New Construction for City Furniture. “Over the past year, I spent countless...
